1954 40 U

Andy writes, "I had been looking for an old tractor to use around my place, and picked up a 1954 40U in the beginning of July [2001]. I found your site about a day after that. My original goal was to find something that I could get running by the fall and use to clear some fields and maybe get a loader attachment for the winter. Needless to say, I ended up with a 'project' tractor. I hope to have it running by spring (minus the loader). I plan on taking pictures of the whole process to show my unbelieving friends that one day this tractor will run. I actually finished putting the generator back together today, and it seems to be working. I even cleaned and painted it, but don't have those pics back yet."
